Designed exclusively as a thrusting weapon, the stiletto was widespread in the period when upper-class civilian dress often incorporated mail or leather body armour.
The blade is in triangular sections and the pommel and guard finials are in the form of spirally carved pine cones.
This dagger is a display only reproduction of a stiletto in a private collection dating from the late 17th century.
