TERMS / ORDERING INFO


Online Ordering

You can submit orders online to be paid for by CHEQUE, credit/debit card, delta, Maestro, solo, JCB, Nochex or moneybookers.
The order pages are 100% secured with SSL 128 bit encryption, you'll see the yellow padlock appear at the bottom right of your browser when you move onto the final order page.

We accept telephone orders Monday-Friday 10am to 4.30pm

We only accept telephone orders for items marked 'in stock'on the website. Typical delivery time is 1-3 days.

Other Payment Methods

- Postal Orders and other payment types are not accepted as it's not possible for us to 100% verify the age of the purchaser.

Age Verification

Visa, Switch, MasterCard etc. are only issued to persons 16 years of age or older, therefore we use sophisticated fraud checks to confirm that the cardholder has placed the order which also confirms age of purchaser without us needing to contact the customer directly.
Electron and Solo cards can be issued to under 16's therefore we will make background checks to verify age, we can normally do this without needing to contact the card holder. If possible we would prefer payment by other card types to help reduce our workload and/or need to contact you.
Please be aware that falsifying our age declaration on the order form is a serious legal offence and should we determine you are under legal age to purchase items from this site at any time, we will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

SHIPPING

Free Postage - Several items are sold with free postage, this is to mainland UK only and can include additional products such as a stand or other swords on the free postage offer

Knives - Approx �0.50p by Royal Mail, insured

Large Knives / Daggers - by Royal Mail - typically �2-3, insured. ** Prices are based on weight and will be slightly more for heavier items

Swords / Orders over 2 kilos - �7.50 . . . . (�7.50 is the max postage we charge, it will cover any sized order to UK, Wales and Scotland). This is for a '24 hour' Parcelforce, Insured, Signed delivery. Goods are sent after order processing which typically takes 1-2 days from when you place the order.

Next Day Delivery* - is �15 and offered up to 1pm daily (exc. Fri/Sat/Sun), you must telephone in your order on 0845 226 5514 10.45am-3pm.

Saturday Delivery* - is �25 and you must telephone in your order by 1.30pm on Friday 0845 226 5514 10.45am-3pm.

* The additional fee you pay covers our staff cost for processing your order immediately. As such if parcelforce fail to deliver on time it is accepted that when using these services the extra delivery charge will not be refunded. If we fail to send out your goods on a next day delivery service we will obviously refund the extra paid.

Everything is in stock unless stated in the description, these are updated every 48hrs, If an item has gone out of stock we will contact you with the anticipated arrival and the option to cancel at any time, waiting times are typically 5-10 days for new stock to come in.

Northern Ireland / Isle Of Wight - Shipping is the same for knives/daggers. Larger orders are �12.50 by Parcelforce to Northern Ireland and �20 to the Isle of Wright/Man
Ireland - Shipping to Ireland takes approx 7-14 days and costs 10+ for 1 sword, we will always clear the actual shipping cost with you before we process your order if the shipping total is �15 or more.

Delivery Times

Swords - Typically 2-3 days from order for in stock items, you will receive an order confirmation when you place the order, a processed receipt within 24-48 hrs and a despatched email with your tracking number the moment your order has left our warehouse. Please norte that at busy times or when we have had a large delivery, our standard delivery time can be affected by a few days so you should allow 7 working days for delivery, if you need your items in a hurry then please use the next day option to avoid dissapointment.

Knives - Typically 3-5 days from order as Royal Mail collect twice a week from the warehouse. If you pay by cheque then delivery will be around 10-12 days.

FAULTS/RETURNS

Damage/Fault/Loss - In the highly unlikely event that the item should be damaged or lost in transit to you. You are covered for a free replacement or refund less return postage providing the following criteria are followed.
1. Where goods have been delivered, you must keep hold of packaging/goods in case they need to be inspected by Parcelforce.
2. Do not attempt to use the item
3. Contact us as soon as possible, to make things easier you can log in to your account and file a damaged goods form.

Damage must be reported within 7 days after receipt of goods and loss within 20 days or claims will not be processed by the shipping companies (Royal Mail / Parcelforce) Please do not return goods without first contacting us for instructions, to do so would void postage refund. You must include your order number with any return so we can trace it back to you

Returns/cancellations - We only sell items that meet our high standards for both workmanship and value for money. If you don't like your item just let us know and we will sort out a refund or replacement for you, whichever you prefer. We can pickup swords at your convenience. Small Items and some swords will need to be returned by Royal Mail. All returns must be made within 15 days (to the address at the bottom of this page). Returns are at your risk and should be sent insured. Refunds will be less postage to you, return costs and credit card transaction charges (no more than 5% of order total or �2, whichever is greater). Item/s must reach us in the same condition they left with original box/packaging. If they should arrive here damaged an insurance claim will need to be filed so please keep the receipt.
If you decide to cancel your order before it leaves the warehouse there is normally no charge, however if you cancel after your card has been charged this will result in a 5% transaction charge and �3 admin fee, we don't charge until just before despatch.

Special Order Items are clearly marked on the site, it is normally possible to cancel special order items without any charges providing you cancel before they have shipped from the wholesalers. If you should decide to cancel after the item has shipped or return the item as it is not to your liking then there will be a 15% restocking fee. Wherever possible we use large genuine photo's of the items we sell, not professionally enhanced pictures like many sites, so you can see exactly what you are buying.

Special Order items typically arrive in 5-10 days to arrive, however, being special order they can be out of stock with wholesalers and subject to customs/postal delays so import times should be viewed as a rough guide.


Returns of Body Jewellery - Body jewellery will only be accepted as a return if the item is damaged or faulty on arrival. This is due to health and safety and no exceptions will be made to this rule.

Custom Made Items - Unfortunately custom made items are excluded from our cancellation/returns policy, however, where a problem exists we will work with the customer to the best of our ability to resolve any problem.

FREE RETURNS - We now offer a free returns service to all repeat customers, just keep your first order number safe, we reserve the right to disqualify a customer from a free return at any time if we feel the service is being abused by the customer.

Guarantee - Most items on the site carry a 12 month guarantee against defective workmanship or software failure. Should you experience a problem with your item please contact us and we will contact the appropriate manufacturers/wholesalers on your behalf. Most manufacturers have a 'usage policy' which determines what is and is not covered, for instance, damage resulting from incorrect use would not be covered.

Privacy Policy

We take your privacy very seriously, view a privacy policy here which we abide by. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Anti-Fraud Protection

Retailers are often subject to credit card fraud, caused by criminals using stolen cards to place orders. We combat this in various ways including checking the address given as the 'billing' address on our order form against that which the credit card company has on file. If these do not match the transaction will be flagged for investigation and goods will not be shipped until the purchaser has confirmed their identity, do not falsify the order form, we will prosecute illegal chargebacks without fail. Also, where an alternate delivery address is given we may make additional checks before completing the order, wherever possible we prefer to ship to the cardholder address.

As we genereally only ship on pre-payment basis it is unusual but Where a situation has arisen where a customer has an outstanding balance payable but has not paid and we have been unable to collect monies from the customer within a 30 day timescale, the debt will be passed onto a debt collection agency which will incur a late payment charge payable direct to said company, at this time that company is Direct Route Insight Ltd

Stock indicators are updated daily and run approx 24-48 hours behind, we hold a great deal of stock (often 20+ of a single item) and so are rarely out, we are continually improving and increasing stock.
Should an order be returned to us by parcelforce we will resend or refund the order less postage based on recipients instructions
When placing an order on this site you will receive an automated order confirmation to confirm we have received your order, however, Blades UK has not accepted your order until such time as we begin processing your order (i.e. when you have been charged).

Blunting -

Recently we've had several requests for swords to be blunted, we now offer this on any item excluding carbon steel blades, just type blunted in the order notes. There is a �5 blunting charge per item, To answer a few questions - there's no visible difference to the blade, only that you will be able to run your finger alog the edge without fear of cutting yourself. The tip will only be rounded off if specifically requested as that will affect the overall look of the item. We do not offer refunds on blades which have been modified to suit your needs, bear in mind requested a blunted sword will delay the order by around 5 days

Trade Purchases

Yes, we do trade sales to businesses in the U.K, upfront payment will be required. Please e-mail our trade department at [email protected] for our trade price list. We always supply VAT receipts.

We believe we are the cheapest UK Blade supplier but should you find any cheaper legitimate price from any other retailer we will happily beat it for you (following Terms and Conditions apply)

Our Common Sense Terms and Conditions

1. The Definition of 'Quote' is the full price you would be paying to have the item/s delivered to your door, all costs inclusive, not the item price as these are often subject to hidden costs.
2. Must be for the same product from the same manufacturer and in the same condition (brand new).
3. The offer is subject to the same purchase conditions as the other retailer.
4. Only UK sites selling goods from within the U.K 5. The offer is completed at the time of sale.
6. Blades-UK reserves the right to remove this offer at any time.
